Good Neighbors Compost

Good Neighbors Compost is a startup in Buffalo, New York that offers a monthly subscription for compost drop-off. I met owner Jeana Franjoine at Little Salmon, the zero-waste shop in Buffalo’s Elmwood Village, and just adore her. Jeana knew about the benefits of composting locally and how it improves soil quality and creates a circular model. Good Neighbors Compost was a natural extension of her passion! She needed a beautiful website that she could easily manage and update herself as her business grows—and I think it’s going to grow like crazy.

As an ardent composter myself, this one was near and dear to my heart. The opportunity to work with Jeana and help launch her vision was such a pleasure. I was proud to give her the web presence she deserves!

Kind Words

What an amazing experience! In a project I was worried would feel overwhelming and time consuming, Kristen made fun and simple. She is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. My website had a quick deadline and Kristen managed to finish way before. She interpreted and listened to my ideas on what I wanted my website to be like and the result is perfection. In addition, she teaches you everything—so you are ready to tackle changes in the future, which is so important. I am so thankful and would recommend her to anyone and everyone! :)

A fresh web design

Jeana was ready and raring to go—she’d already had a logo designed, had selected a color palette, and was ready with professional photography that matched her brand. Boom!

I knew Squarespace was the perfect home for her new website. She has no experience with website maintenance, but Squarespace is so easy to use that I knew she’d pick it up in no time. I wanted her to be able to confidently add pages, images, text, and buttons to her website and update her e-commerce storefront with new subscription options as her business grows. I set her storefront up to give subscribers their first month free and created a custom checkout form so that subscribers could select their drop-off location. I had some fun with custom code, too, giving her contact form fields a frosted look to show off the beautiful photographs I used as backgrounds.

The result? A gorgeous, moody, earthy website that’s 100% on-brand. Check it out!
