Julie Himelein

Julie Himelein is a Contemporary American artist with an abstract-impressionistic style. Based in Hamburg, New York, she also spends time in Venice, Florida.

It was because of Venice that she came to me looking for a brand-new website: She was one of a handful of artists who would be featured in the Venice Art Center’s Twentieth Annual Fine Arts Show in February 2022. She needed a website as beautiful as her paintings, complete with an e-commerce storefront so she could sell her work to art collectors across the country. She also wanted a simple website, with large, airy text, that she could feel comfortable updating on her own.

It was a pleasure to give her the web presence she deserves!

A simple website to showcase beautiful art

I knew Squarespace would be the perfect home for Julie’s new website. With Squarespace, all of my clients feel comfortable updating their own websites—it’s easy to add and update pages, images, text, buttons, and more. And with Julie creating more beautiful pieces by the day, it was important that her e-commerce store be simple to manage so she could spend more time at the easel and less time making her products available to sell. I connected her site with TaxJar so her site would automatically collect the correct sales tax amount, too. Because she’s an artist whose work is her livelihood, I disabled right-click functionality on her site so that high-resolution images of her art couldn’t be stolen and used without her consent.

With just one training session, Julie was off to the races—all by herself. She’s already adding paintings to her store!
