Kate Anderson Foley, Ph.D.
Kate Anderson Foley, Ph.D., is the talent at the heart of the Education Policy & Practice Group, where she offers future-focused, equity-based consulting, executive coaching, women in leadership coaching, and public speaking.
Her consulting work is dedicated to improving academic and social-emotional outcomes for students by helping institutions and agencies develop efficient, fair funding models, innovative policy, and improved organizations. Kate also coaches women in education leadership to help them overcome common stereotypes and biases in an outdated landscape. It’s her way of shifting the power balance and positioning more women to move into CEO and Superintendent positions that have traditionally filled by men. And her public speaking and executive coaching are focused on catalyzing change.
I love it.
When Kate reached out to me, it was because she wanted to update the look and feel of her existing website, add content, and make room for expanded areas of her services.
As we talked, it became clear that Kate needed help to relaunch her business and do justice to her expertise. Kate booked a photo shoot with Casi Hall, worked with Jordana Halpern on content, and invited Tina Anderson to work her marketing magic.
I got to work with talented women to help a talented woman. That’s the good stuff, my dear.
The original website
Kate’s original website was built several years ago on Squarespace 7. It was a one-page website; visitors could click tabs at the top to scroll down the page. It was light on content, even lighter on calls-to-action, and the colors didn’t match the Education Policy & Practice Group brand. And because it was built on Squarespace 7, Kate wasn’t able to take advantage of all of the new features baked into Squarespace 7.1 and made possible by their sweet new Fluid Engine builder.
To give you an idea of where we started, here’s a look at Kate’s original website:
The web design process
Kate’s needs were simple: A website that would clearly list the services she offers, showcase her expertise, offer information on her books and other published work, and make it easy for people to book her for consulting, coaching, or speaking opportunities.
Thanks to my partners, I had beautiful photos and well-written content to use when designing Kate’s new website. It all looked gorgeous when paired with the vibrant colors of Kate’s brand. It was a pleasure to bring it all together! Even better? Handing a beautiful website off to someone who knows exactly which marketing levers to pull.
