Nora Saintz

Nora Saintz is the talent behind Gardenette, a business she launched to garden design services to homeowners and DIYers throughout Western New York.

When Nora came to me, it was because her WIX website was not only difficult to manage, it was in need of a refresh ahead of a major Spring 2024 feature in a widely read local magazine. It was imperative that her website look its absolute best!

What a pleasure it was to give Nora the website she deserves!

Kind words

“My website was in desperate need of a facelift, and Kristen's web designing prowess was just the magic wand it needed! She was able to create a modern and professional look for my site while still maintaining my brand’s unique vibe. Working with Kristen was a pleasure, and I highly recommend her services to anyone looking to revamp their website. Thanks to her expertise, my site now stands out from the competition. Thanks Kristen!”

The web design process

Nora was one of the most well-organized clients I’ve ever had. I’m an overly conscientious Type A who’s a stickler for detail, so I was totally in love!

She had a logo, color palette, font palette, and brand guide. Talk about gorgeous! Her brand green is rich and plays beautifully with her brand’s light rose pink, celery green, and off-white. The color palette, in particular, is a lovely complement to her minimalist tendencies.

And the pics! Oh, the pics. As a garden designer with a serious eye for beauty, let me just say that Nora’s photos did not disappoint.

Nora had built her own website in WIX, but it was proving a challenge to update and she knew that her old website didn’t showcase her brand and expertise the way it should. I was happy to rescue her from WIX and bring her to Squarespace! Why? Squarespace checks all my boxes: No-code, drag-and-drop builder. Easy to use. Easy for clients to update on their own. Simple and intuitive. Check, check, check, and check.

I was able to transfer Nora’s domains from WIX to Squarespace and help her move her Google Workspace custom email away from WIX so she could manage it separately through Google. Once her domains landed on Squarespace, launching her website was super easy!

Nora’s new website is elegant and vibrant, just like she is. It’s got a minimalist color palette and lots of white space to keep her gorgeous designs and photos front-and-center. It’s equipped with just a few bells-and-whistles:

  • An engaging video background for each page. Each video shows a garden full of flowers, and many of the videos show butterflies or bees interacting with the food sources available in a native, pollinator friendly garden.

  • A Resources page that gives prospective clients an easy way to access her Etsy store and explore her premade garden designs.

  • Squarespace Email Campaigns so she can easily share news, blog posts, new projects, and new Etsy products with her subscribers. I imported all of her subscribers, so her mailing list is populated and ready to go at a moment’s notice.

  • Hidden pages and sections so it’ll be super easy for her to customize everything and launch her Course in 2024 using Squarespace Digital Products.

  • A sprinkle of custom CSS to sweeten the recipe and give her website a custom look. I had a lot of fun adding drop shadows and button hover states to her site.

Take a look at her new website home page!
